Avignon wird während des Theaterfestivals und OFF-Festivals selbst zur Bühne. Die Strassen sind voll von Festivalbesuchern, dazwischen Theaterleute, die oft in ihren Kostümen für ihre Aufführungen mit Plakaten und Handzetteln werben. (Festival d´Avignon 2025)
